Identifying key conventions of a contents page

In a magazine there is a content pages, it is designed to allow readers what the contents are inside a magazine. They provide short and brief information on the individual articles that are featured inside the magazine.

Key conventions of a contents page:
  •  A grid structure must be followed. e.g rulers and gridlines must be used to contruct your ideas.
  • Includes contents banner at the top of page.
  • date, issue number, web address and social media information is placed along with the masthead
  • 1 or 2 columns of information with subheadings 
  • To locate the pages, numbers are used.
  • Photos of the content are used, they contain numbers and captions. the importance of the article depends on the size of the image.
  • Every article will feature a heading. It is usually large and bold so that it stands out.
  • The blurb is usually smaller and placed below the heading.
  • A callout box or an editors letter, showing the subscription of the magazine.
  • The text of the page is important, a suitable size of text should be used. Specifically no bigger than 24 pt and no smaller than 10pt.
