Q magazine is a British rock/pop, alternative magazine which mostly deals with older artists or bands. Which targets towards older audiences, they feature artists that are popular or are a big deal to the music industry. Q believes the older generation of the pop/rock music are forgotten sometimes by people, they try to feature artists that were a big thing to bring them back to life. This helps promotes artists that may have lost their fame for a bit. The style of the masthead is in serif font which suggests that its sophisticated and more formal which links to the older generation artists that it features. this also suggests that its target audience are towards the older generation, such as ages between 30 and 40s who are looking for a different mode of address. However, it seems that Q magazine appeals to more men than women of that age range. The magazine feature a wide variety of different things other than music such as, interviews, televisions, films, games and reissues. etc. However, majority of the magazine is filled with interviews of the artists featured. Q believes to bring back the old music and values that old music should always be brought back once in a while which shows the importance. the common conventions of this magazine is that the masthead is always in the top left corner of the cover, which consists of the iconic red and White colour scheme of the house style. the main image of the front cover are usually a one person closeup shot which is majority of the time in front of the masthead. The layout and composition is overall vibrant and dynamic.
